INFO TECHNOLOGY EVOLUTION

The Digital Vortex: It's not a matter of "when," pointed out Professor Michael R. Wade – IMD Research Center.

Digital disruption has transformed the traditional dynamics of competitiveness across virtually all economic sectors.

Digital Transformation began in some sectors several years ago - such as the automotive industry (Industry 4.0) - while for others, it gradually emerged with similar intensity.

In the manufacturing sector, suppliers to major automotive companies were under increasing pressure to transform their operations in line with the new wave of process digitalization.

However, it has also been a top priority for other sectors, such as telecommunications service providers, forced to evolve their operations toward next generation network platforms - including 5G and its associated functionalities - due to the rapidly growing demand for greater capacity in both fixed and especially mobile service networks. This surge is driven by the increasing number of companies embracing Digital Transformation in their operations.

The telecommunications industry plays a critical role in supporting the digitalization of manufacturing, commerce, finance, and all business sectors. At the same time, it can unlock significant value through its own digital transformation.

In the Media segment, creating the right content and presenting it in the context expected by audiences requires innovation and digitalization throughout the entire business process - from discovering new methods of content creation, such as mass collaboration with individuals outside the organization, to experimenting with creative ways to distribute it, e.g., through online applications.

The digitalization process has reached a point where the boundaries between media, operators, and tech companies no longer exist. This affects both traditional companies and emerging digital enterprises.

As a result, for example, all media companies are now compelled to plan and develop their activities around technology to attract younger audiences, create impactful content and services, and distribute them more efficiently to achieve the expected business outcomes.

The convergence of Info technology and artificial intelligence - born from this ongoing evolution - carries profound implications for human life and the fabric of society.
